Yep, that's right #DataFam, as the 147th Kentucky Derby is held on the first Saturday in May, our #SportsVizSunday monthly challenge focuses on the Run for the Roses, held annually in Louisville, Kentucky and capping the two-week long Kentucky Derby Festival.
This year has seen horse racing history with the first female winner of the Grand National, congratulations to Rachael Blackmore who rode to victory on Minella Times. Whilst the riders of this year's Kentucky Derby doesn't feature any female jockeys, it does have the first female trainer since 2015, Vicki Oliver, although at 50-1 Hidden Stash may be a long shot for the title.
For this month's data we share with you the Derby winners, triple crown winners and the field by year back to 1875. That's a whole lot of data relating to Run for the Roses for you to explore.
So over to you #DataFam, explore the data, and as always, amaze us with your visualisations, and, with this month being a horse racing month, there is obviously only one way to sign off this post....
