A friday and saturday packed with sports.... until Bryson didn't make the cut in the US Open, and England got knocked out by Germany in the darts world cup doubles. At that point, I turned the telly off and had a Sunday to myself. You can tell im a bit of a plastic fan.

It did get me thinking though across different sports, whether people tend to "support" the team, the individual, or the event. In each of these different cases, it plays a huge part financially. Football for example, everyone has "their team", you don't tend to watch people follow and support the club of specific players as much. Darts is a bit more of an individual sport, I have my favourites, but I presume most people that go to these events enjoy the atmosphere, and their weekend isn't ruined as much if Littler beats Humphries or vice versa.

& ....what about something like horse racing? Support probably comes in the form of bets and alcohol, as oppose to wanting to necessarily see a jockey or horse.

Onto this weeks content.

Lev lets us reminisce just how good that french open final was, as he coins it the Alcaraz era.

Give it 10 years we will see how this chart gets coloured. I suspect Sinner and Alcaraz will be household names held in the same light as the big 3.

Murray, Wawrinka and Sinner all gutted they "only" won 3 grand slams so missed out on Lev's colour coding.

If you've been loving the golf, why not learn a little around how HTML works as I take a look at the different hole layouts, shots taken and capturing this information in Tableau using map backgrounds.

I've said it before, Matthew Antoline has THE best Tableau Public page in terms off its mix between creativity and technical proficiency, so its great to see his way of visualising the notable amount of rain, its impact on driver speed and the need for prolonged safety car periods.

John joins the SportsVizSunday crew for the first time, and we welcome him with open arms when the visuals are of this calibre. The toggles are interactive, so you're able to switch between the different world series winners, and understand the batting and pitching stats for those seasons!

Baseball-reference is a goldmine for baseball data. Check it out if you haven't had the chance.

Jeff Koman breaks down the super rugby match between the crusaders and the blues. I enjoyed learning about the competitive nature between the teams, through to recent game form and then the key contributers.

If you want to hear more about our favourites from May check out our latest video!

Finally, if you'd like to check out the winner in the sports & Leisure category from Information is Beautiful awards. It went to Fabian Lang, for his piece on Swiss Mountains.

Catch you next week,
