The calendar is moving ever-onwards, and the sport is not waiting for anyone. The Premier League continues apace, the rugby Six Nations is speeding to a conclusion, the cricket Champions Trophy has just concluded, and the new F1 season is breathing down our necks. Whatever your sport, there are narratives being written.
We've got a bit of a LinkedIn theme to the contributions this week, and I'm starting with Lilla Rasztik's very impressive Fitness Tracker. Inspired by many different things from across the community, Lilla has brought together a wide range of different visualisation types to bring her fitness goals to life, and track her progress in an engaging way. I love how each visualisation clearly shows what the goal is as well as how Lilla is doing, yet remains visually distinct. I really enjoyed moving across the dashboard and reading the story of each part to bring together a balanced view of Lilla's progress. Great work!
Next is Jordan Pickles' great overview of the ICC Champions Trophy in cricket. This was Jordan's first foray into map layers (my personal favourite feature of Tableau) and he's done a cracking job of showing the versatility that they can bring. This dashboard seamlessly blends design and function to create something that would be at home as a custom web object, let alone a Tableau dashboard.
Animations are an under-used feature in Tableau but Mateusz Karmalski has used them to great effect to bring life to a Formula 1 dashboard. Taking inspiration from the sci-fi appearance of modern steeing wheels, Mateusz has used animations to show live telemetry from the race together with position on the track. This provides a great way to feel part of what is happening, and a very cool way to look back and analyse what happened.
This next visualisation is one that you might have seen a lot if you are a football fan - the shot map for Liverpool's ridiculous smash-and-grab 1-0 win away at PSG in the Champions League. Despite losing the shot count 27-2, and the xG battle 2.58-0.25 [according to one model], Liverpool still came away the winners. Sometimes sport is ridiculous.

Sticking with football, and Hudl Statsbomb have released a super guide to using their Statsbomb data in both R and Python, as well as a whole heap of new data for free! Well worth checking out if you are a football fan or just looking for a new challenge in general!
And that's it for this week's short by sweet #SportsVizSunday roundup! Good luck to anyone who entered the IIB Awards as I believe the longlists are announced tomorrow. I'm looking forward to checking out some of the best sporting visualisations there are!

جلب الحبيب

Sports and fitness tracking, like Lilla Rasztik’s impressive dashboard, are vital to maintaining health and motivation. For those dealing with physical discomfort that might hinder progress, exploring options such as spine care in Toronto can provide the support needed to stay active and reach fitness goals.
I got placed as a paramedic through this team—awesome experience. They pharmacist recruitment agencies nailed my busy station preference, sorted the details, and got me hired fast. I’m thriving now—big props to their amazing support!
